The “Light of Creation” show at Votivkirche Vienna is a perfect example of when the power of autocalibration is essential.
The level of detail in the cathedral is huge, and to perfectly align the content on everything from the pillars to the altar, the full building had to be 3D scanned. However, this was only the start. After the scanning was complete, we imported the detailed 3D model into our ProjectiontoolsTM software where the magic could begin. Utilising 12 permanently installed Wide-Angle Camera Calibration kits, we were able to warp, blend, and manage the black level correction of 28 projectors with pixel-perfect accuracy across the full canvas.
